Maria Corsaro returned to her first love, singing, several years ago which led to a duo show at The Laurie Beechman Theater, her solo debut show at Don’t Tell Mama and various other performances at many of NYC and CT cabaret rooms. Her recent focus has been returning to her love of jazz and the music of legendary jazz composers and lyricists. This is the music of her heart. She wants her audience to experience the emotional texture of this great American art form. She feels passionately that music feeds the soul and is the creative result of musical collaboration.
Corsaro has this raspy, sexy, woman’s voice in her lower register and a more legit sound on top but it’s a voice filled with what feels like knowledge of the places she puts herself in emotionally.
